Albany, NY (Sports Network) - Mike Black's layup with two seconds left lifted
the fourth-seed Albany Great Danes to a thrilling 61-59 upset of the top-seed
Stony Brook Seawolves in the America East Tournament semifinals at SEFCU
Arena.
Black finished with 16 points, Jacob Iati tallied 14 points and Sam Rowley
grabbed 11 rebounds for Albany (23-10) which faces Vermont in the finals this
Saturday.
Stony Brook (24-7), which won the conference's regular season title, got 16
points from Carson Puriefoy, 15 points from Dave Coley, 10 points from Jameel
Warney and 12 rebounds from Tommy Brenton.
The Great Danes led 57-49 with 1:34 remaining but the Seawolves went on a
10-2 run to knot things up at 59-59 with 12 seconds left. However Black sank
the Seawolves' comeback attempt with his game-winner.
