Hot Springs, AR (Sports Network) - T.J. Price led the way with 18 points as
the sixth-seeded Western Kentucky Hilltoppers dismissed the 11th-seeded ULM
Warhawks, 74-60, in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament at
Summit Arena.
George Fant added 12 points on 6-of-6 from the field for WKU (17-15), which
will battle third-seeded South Alabama in the quarterfinal round on Saturday.
For ULM (4-23), Kyle Koszuta scored 15 points, Millaun Brown tallied 12 points
and seven rebounds, while Amos Olatayo and Trent Mackey netted 10 points
apiece.
WKU dominated the first half, outshooting ULM from the field, 69.2 percent to
32.3 percent, as it went into halftime with a 46-24 lead.
The Warhawks gained some ground on their deficit after intermission by
shooting 56 percent from the field in the second stanza, but the Hilltoppers'
advantage was never in question.
WKU was red-hot from 3-point range, connecting on 11-of-22 from beyond the
arc.
