Ogden, UT (Sports Network) - Davion Berry led the way with 19 points, as the
Weber State Wildcats blew out the Portland State Vikings, 80-52, in a Big Sky
Conference tussle at Dee Events Center.
For the Wildcats (23-5, 17-2 Big Sky), a pair of players chipped in with
double-doubles, with Scott Bamforth scoring 13 points and grabbing 12 rebounds
and Joel Bolomboy finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Renado Parker finished with 13 points and Aaron Moore scored 11 points for the
Vikings (8-19, 5-14).
Weber State dominated the first half, connecting on 56 percent of its shots
from the field and 5-of-8 from 3-point range to take a 41-13 lead into the
locker room. Portland State shot just 18.2 percent from the field and missed
all seven of its tries from 3-point range.
The Wildcats continued to knock down shots in the second half, draining 55.6
percent of their field goal tries and 3-of-8 from 3-point range. The Vikings
finally found their shooting touch after halftime, shooting 59.3 percent from
the field and 2-of-3 from 3-point range. Though they played even in the second
half, the Vikings could not overcome their slow start, as the Wildcats coasted
to victory.
Weber State dominated the boards, outrebounding the Vikings, 44-23. The
Wildcats had a slight edge in points in the paint, 32-30.
