Lewis, the Marist Red Foxes defeated the Fairfield Stags at the McCann Center,
73-60, to close out the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular season.
Lewis shot 9-of-16 from the field for Marist (10-20, 6-12 MAAC), which has won
three in a row for the first time all season. Adam Kemp recorded a double-
double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Jay Bowie also poured in 14
points in a reserve role.
Marcus Gilbert had 15 points for Fairfield (17-14, 9-9), while Maurice Barrow
contributed 10 points. The Stags head into the MAAC Tournament ice-cold,
having lost three straight.
Marist led from the opening tip, shooting 51.9 percent from the field in the
first half to get out to a 34-28 advantage at the break.
Fairfield cut its deficit to three on a handful of occasions, including with
just under 10 minutes to play following a Barrow jumper, but the Red Foxes
ended the threat with nine straight points and led by double figures the rest
of the way.
Marist was busy at the foul line with 44 attempts, although it made just 24 of
those (.545).
