Tulsa, OK (Sports Network) - Scottie Haralson scored 16 points, leading four
players in double figures, as the Tulsa Golden Hurricane posted a 78-66 win
over the Tulane Green Wave in Conference USA action at the Reynolds Center.
Pat Swilling, Rashad Ray and James Woodard all added 12 points for the Golden
Hurricane (15-13, 7-7 CUSA), the latter also pulling down eight rebounds as
the squad snapped a two-game slide.
The Green Wave (18-11, 6-8) was paced by Josh Davis and Ricky Tarrant with 16
points apiece and Jordan Callahan 11 off the bench before he fouled out in the
team's second straight setback.
Tulane, which shot just 34.4 percent from the floor in the first half, used a
9-0 scoring run in the frame to assume a 19-point lead with about eight
minutes remaining before claiming a 43-23 advantage at the break. The visitors
made good on all but one of their 17 free-throw attempts in the period.
Tulsa, which shot only 25 percent from the field over the first 20 minutes of
action, turned it around in the second half with a stellar 59.3 percent
accuracy, while the Green Wave made a total of only seven field goals in the
period.
The hosts held a 45-34 rebounding advantage and limited Tulane to just 30.0
percent shooting from the field overall.
