Cheney, WA (Sports Network) - Troy Huff erupted for a season-high 34 points as
North Dakota held on to defeat the Eastern Washington Eagles, 78-74, in a Big
Sky Conference battle at Reese Court.
Also scoring in double figures for North Dakota (14-15, 11-8 Big Sky) was
Aaron Anderson who pitched in with 18 points, adding seven assists and four
steals in the team's third win in the last four outings.
The Eagles (9-20, 6-12), losers of two straight and three of the last four,
were paced by Tyler Harvey who came up with 21 points and eight assists off
the bench, while Collin Chiverton tacked on 14 points. Coming close to
recording a rare triple-double, Martin Seiferth accounted for 14 points, 14
rebounds and a game-high seven blocked shots.
EWU fell behind immediately and ended up shooting only 35.3 percent from the
floor in the first half, not to mention only 1-of-4 beyond the arc, en route
to a 38-31 deficit at the break.
In the second half the Eagles turned it around with 59. 4 percent accuracy
from the field, but at the same time UND knocked down 51.4 percent in order to
remain ahead.
The hosts shot only 8-of-24 on the perimeter on the day and turned the ball
over 16 times.
