Houston, TX (Sports Network) - TaShawn Thomas registered 25 points, 14
rebounds and five assists to lift the Houston Cougars to a 103-74 rout of the
Marshall Thundering Herd in a Conference USA bout at Hofheinz Pavilion.
Danuel House and Joseph Young tallied 23 points apiece for Houston (16-11, 5-9
C-USA), which snapped a three-game losing skid. Mikhail McLean chipped in 12
points and seven boards for the hosts.
DeAndre Kane had a game-high 27 points for Marshall (12-17, 5-9), while Elijah
Pittman scored 22 points. Dennis Tinnon contributed 13 points and 12 boards
off the bench.
Houston led 44-28 at the break after finishing the first half on a 21-8 run.
Thomas had 16 points in the period to lead Houston, which shot 51.5 percent
from the floor.
The Cougars opened the second half on a 14-7 run and never looked back despite
allowing Marshall 14 second chance points in the final 20 minutes.
Houston improved to 6-4 all-time against Marshall.
