Little Rock, AR (Sports Network) - Will Neighbour recorded a double-double
with 17 points and a game-high 11 rebounds as the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans
picked up a 77-68 win over the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns in Sun Belt Conference
action at the Jack Stephens Center.
Also scoring in double figures for the Trojans (16-14, 10-9 Sun Belt) were
Josh Hagins with 14 points, John Gillon and Ben Dillard with 13 apiece and
Leroy Isler 10 points as the squad snapped a four-game slide.
The Ragin' Cajuns (11-19, 7-12), losers of two straight, were paced by Shawn
Long with 19 points and eight rebounds, followed by Alan-Michael Thompson with
18 points, Elfrid Payton 17 and eight assists, and Bryant Mbamalu 13 points in
the setback.
Louisiana shot a dismal 27.6 percent from the floor in the first half,
including a mere 2-of-11 beyond the arc, yet the visitors trailed by only 10
points at the break, 36-26.
In the second half the Ragin' Cajuns made things interesting with 14-of-20
shooting at the free-throw line, but it wasn't enough to bring the team all
the way back.
UALR claimed the win despite turning the ball over 18 times.
