Laramie, WY (Sports Network) - Leonard Washington hung up a double-double of
16 points and 12 rebounds as the Wyoming Cowboys rolled over the Nevada Wolf
Pack, 68-48, in a Mountain West Conference matchup at Arena-Auditorium.
Derrious Gilmore added 15 points and five assists and Josh Adams chipped in
12 points for Wyoming (17-7, 3-7 MWC) which had lost five of its previous six
contests.
Deonte Burton netted 13 points, Malik Story contributed 11 and Kevin Panzer
tacked on 10 for Nevada (12-12, 3-7) which has lost four of its last five.
Both teams shot below 40 percent from the field in the first half but
advantages in points from 3-point range (15-6) and the free-throw line (8-1)
for Wyoming earned it a 29-19 edge at the break.
After halftime the Cowboys drilled 71.4 percent of their shots to pull away
for the 20-point victory.
Wyoming doubled up Nevada in points off turnovers, 16-8, and led by as many
as 23 points.
