Flagstaff, AZ (Sports Network) - Parker Kelly netted 19 points to lead the
Eastern Washington Eagles to a 77-74 overtime win against the Northern Arizona
Lumberjacks in a Big Sky Conference matchup at Walkup Skydome.
Tyler Harvey shot 5-of-6 from the floor off the bench and contributed a
career-high 14 points, while Kevin Winford chipped in 12 points and five
assists for Eastern Washington (7-17, 5-9 Big Sky). Jeffrey Forbes had 10
points and eight rebounds.
Stallon Saldivar registered the first triple-double in NAU (9-15, 6-8) history
with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, while Gabe Rogers netted a game-
high 25 points on 11-of-18 shooting. Michael Dunn had 10 points and seven
boards, followed by Gaellan Bewernick with eight points and another 11
rebounds.
Eastern Washington shot just 4-of-16 from long range in the first half while
NAU connected on 50 percent from behind the arc. The Lumberjacks also
outrebounded the Eagles, 16-14, and led 33-29 at intermission.
NAU shot 50 percent from the floor in the second half and opened the period on
a 25-11 run. Trailing 58-40 after a Rogers jumper, EWU ended the period on a
26-8 run which included a 3-point shot by Kelly with 15 seconds remaining in
regulation to tie the score at 66-66.
Harvey drilled two outside shots in the extra session, the second of which put
the Eagles ahead, 75-71, with 1:23 remaining. After a Rogers triple on the
other end, two Forbes' free throws put EWU ahead, 77-74.
Despite the loss, NAU still leads the all-time series, 34-26.
