Norman, OK (Sports Network) - Romero Osby scored 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting
and the Oklahoma Sooners ended their 10-game losing streak to Kansas and kept
the fifth-ranked Jayhawks in a tailspin with a 72-66 victory at Lloyd Noble
Center.
Kansas has lost three straight for the first time since the 2004-05 season.
The final loss in that skid came against the Sooners on Feb. 21, 2005, which
also happened to be Oklahoma's last victory over the Big 12 powerhouse.
Steven Pledger chipped in 15 points for Oklahoma (15-7, 6-4 Big 12), which
never trailed in the second half despite several late runs by the Jayhawks.
Bill Self was visibly disappointed with Kansas' performance on Wednesday at
TCU when the Jayhawks were upset by a team that had lost eight straight games,
and he will surely take exception to the team's 11-of-20 showing from the foul
line in Saturday's setback.
Things don't get any easier for the Jayhawks (19-4, 7-3) on Monday when they
host No. 13 Kansas State.
Ben McLemore and Jeff Withey netted 15 and 14 points, respectively, in the
loss.
