Greeley, CO (Sports Network) - Paul Garnica scored a game-high 21 points in 21
minutes as he guided the Northern Colorado Bears to a 78-63 win over the Idaho
State Bengals in Big Sky Conference play at Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion.
Tate Unruh and Tim Huskisson both tallied 15 points for the Bears (5-13, 3-7
Big Sky) while Tevin Svihovec accounted for 10 points and six assists as the
team snapped a two-game slide.
The Bengals (4-15, 3-7), losers of four straight, were paced by Melvin Morgan
with 18 points and Neveij Walters off the bench with 10 and seven boards.
A close battle in the first half, UNC made good on 41.7 percent from the floor
in order to claim a slim 29-28 advantage at the break.
After intermission the Bears converted a staggering 70.8 percent from the
field and 83.3 percent beyond the arc, allowing them to cruise to the 15-point
home win.
Northern Colorado, which nailed an astounding 15-of-21 beyond the arc on the
night, outscored the visitors out on the perimeter by a 45-24 margin.
