Davidson, NC (Sports Network) - De'Mon Brooks scored 22 points, on 8-of-10
shooting from the field, as the Davidson Wildcats took care of the Samford
Bulldogs at home, 71-51, in a Southern Conference tilt at Belk Arena.
Jake Cohen added 14 points, seven boards and three blocks for Davidson (14-7,
9-1 SoCon) while Chris Czerapowicz and Nik Cochran scored 11 and 10 points,
respectively.
Tim Williams and Tyler Hood scored 12 points apiece to lead Samford (7-14,
5-3) which has now lost consecutive games after four straight wins. Raijon
Kelly chipped in 10 points and seven assists.
The Wildcats led 25-24 at halftime despite missing all seven of their 3-point
attempts. Hood had 10 points off the bench on 5-of-6 from the field in the
first half to keep Samford in the hunt.
Davidson took care of business in the second half, connecting on 51.7 percent
of its shots while holding the Bulldogs to a total of just eight made field
goals.
The Wildcats outrebounded Samford, 33-23, as they improved to 8-1 all-time
over the Bulldogs.
