Harrisonburg, VA (Sports Network) - Rayshawn Goins netted 16 points to lead
the James Madison Dukes to a 62-41 win over the Hofstra Pride in a Colonial
Athletic Association bout at the JMU Convocation Center.
Charles Cooke and Andre Nation notched 13 points apiece for James Madison
(13-10, 7-3 CAA), while shooting a combined 5-of-6 from behind the arc. The
Dukes' reserves outscored their counterparts, 25-12.
David Imes had 10 points, six rebounds and three steals to lead Hofstra (5-16,
2-6), which dropped its fifth consecutive contest.
Hofstra hit just 36.4 percent of its shots in the opening period. James
Madison wasn't much better, making shots at a 41.4 percent clip, but the Dukes
outrebounded Hofstra, 17-12, and led 30-24 at halftime.
The shooting woes for the Pride continued in the second half as they missed
all five of their outside attempts, while JMU knocked down 50 percent of its
3-point tries and all six free throws.
The Dukes won the rebounding battle, 36-21, and outscored Hofstra 28-16 in the
paint.
