Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Trey Zeigler recorded a game-high 18 points
as the Pittsburgh Panthers cruised by the DePaul Blue Demons, 93-55, in Big
East Conference play at the Petersen Events Center.
Lamar Patterson tallied 15 points and seven rebounds in the Panthers' (17-4,
5-3 Big East) victory. J.J. Moore added 10 points off the bench, and Steven
Adams had nine points, 14 rebounds, and three blocks as Pittsburgh won its
fourth consecutive game.
For the Blue Demons (10-9, 1-5), Brandon Young logged 13 points, five boards,
and five assists. Moses Morgan pitched in 11 points off the bench as DePaul
lost its fourth consecutive game.
Pittsburgh shot 20-of-40 from the floor in the first half, which included four
3-pointers. It held DePaul to a mere 9-of-33 from the floor and went into the
break with a 53-30.
DePaul continued to struggle after halftime. making only 9-of-32 from the
floor. Pittsburgh shot 48.4 percent from the field in the final 20 minutes to
seal a 38-point victory.
Pittsburgh dominated the glass, 58-34, and outscored DePaul in the paint,
48-16.
