Reno, NV (Sports Network) - Deonte Burton scored 17 points on 7-of-9 from the
floor to lead the Nevada Wolf Pack to a 75-59 win over the Boise State Broncos
in a Mountain West Conference clash at the Lawlor Events Center.
Malik Story finished with 16 points, six rebounds and six assists for Nevada
(11-8, 2-3 MWC) while Jerry Evans, Jr. added 12 points. Devonte Elliott was
also in the mix with 11 points and eight boards off the bench.
Anthony Drmic scored a game-high 23 points in the Boise State (14-5, 2-3)
loss, while leading scorer Derrick Marks had 11 points and four assists. Mikey
Thompson chimed in with 11 points off the bench.
Nevada scored the first seven points of the game and led for most of the half
before Kenny Buckner led a Boise State charge. He netted the last five
Broncos' points of the half, including a layup with 1:04 remaining, to give
BSU its first lead of the half, 28-27, heading into intermission.
Nevada responded with a terrific second half in which it shot 56.5 percent
from the floor while holding BSU to just 36.7 percent. It also took care of
business at the free-throw line, hitting 19-of-23 attempts in the final 20
minutes.
Nevada has now won two of its last three games and improved to 39-21 all-time
over the Broncos.
