Fullerton, CA (Sports Network) - James Ennis registered a double-double of 23
points and 11 rebounds to propel the Long Beach State 49ers to an 81-71
decision over the Cal State Fullerton Titans in a Big West Conference bout at
Titan Gym.
Keala King notched a double-double of his own for LBSU (10-8, 6-1 Big West)
with 12 points and 11 rebounds to go along with seven assists. Deng Deng
contributed 15 points and six boards off the bench while Mike Caffey produced
14 points and five assists to help the 49ers tally their fifth consecutive
win.
Sammy Yeager paced the Titans (10-8, 3-3) with 22 points and seven boards.
D.J. Seeley chipped in 17 points and nine boards, while Deuce Johnson netted
10 points in Fullerton's second-straight setback.
Long Beach State took a 36-30 advantage into the intermission after it
outscored the hosts, 11-3, in second chance points before the break. The
Titans were lucky to be within two possessions after going 1-of-10 from 3-
point range in the opening 20 minutes.
Fullerton held the lead for a few short periods of time after halftime and
tied the score at 62 with 6:24 left in regulation, but Deng put LBSU in front
for good with a make from distance on the following play. The 49ers shot an
even 50 percent from the field in the second half to keep its winning streak
intact.
LBSU held a sizeable, 51-31 edge in the rebounding battle and outscored the
Titans, 21-12, at the charity stripe in the contest.
