Ogden, UT (Sports Network) - Scott Bamforth produced 18 points and seven
rebounds to lead the Weber State Wildcats to a 65-56 victory over the
Sacramento State Hornets in a Big Sky Conference tilt at the Dee Events
Center.
Kyle Tresnak contributed 15 points and eight rebounds for Weber State (13-3,
8-0 Big Sky) as it extended its winning streak to eight in a row. Frank Otis
added 12 points and seven boards.
Dylan Garrity scored 20 points and dealt out four assists for the Hornets
(8-8, 3-5), who also got 16 points and eight rebounds from Konner Veteto. The
loss was the second in a row for Sacramento State.
The Wildcats were in control for most of the opening period, but Joe Eberhard
knocked down a 3-pointer just before the intermission to send Sacramento State
into halftime trailing by a narrow, 34-31 margin. Neither side could gain too
great of an advantage after both shot 46.4 percent from the floor in the first
half.
Weber State created some distance on the scoreboard after the break by
converting 44 percent of its field goal attempts including 4-of-13 from beyond
the arc. The Hornets were unable to keep up after missing all four of their
shots from beyond the arc in the second stanza.
The Wildcats outscored Sacramento State, 21-3, from beyond the arc. Weber
State is now 34-4 all-time versus the Hornets.
