Tuscaloosa, AL (Sports Network) - Trevor Lacey scored 14 points, including the
game-winning jumper with nine seconds to play, as the Alabama Crimson Tide
downed the Texas A&M Aggies, 50-49, in an SEC matchup at Coleman Coliseum.
Trevor Releford led the way with 15 points for the Tide (11-6, 3-1l SEC), who
have won three in a row.
For the Aggies (12-5, 2-2), Elston Turner finished with 13 points and J'Mychal
Reese chipped in with 10 points.
The Aggies shot well in the first half, connecting on 50 percent of their
field goal tries to go into halftime leading, 26-15. The Crimson Tide shot
only 27.8 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes.
After the break, Alabama improved to 56.5 percent from the field as it made
its charge. It opened the half on a 15-2 run and took a 30-28 lead with 15
minutes to play. The teams traded leads down the stretch, setting the stage
for Lacey's game-winner.
The Aggies had the edge on points in the paint, 30-22. They also held a slight
27-25 advantage on the glass.
