Davidson, NC (Sports Network) - De'Mon Brooks led four Wildcats in double-
figures with 17 points as Davidson defeated the College of Charleston Cougars,
77-68, in Southern Conference play at Belk Arena.
Brooks also pulled down five rebounds for the Wildcats (11-7, 6-1 SoCon).
JP Kuhlman and Nik Cochran scored 15 points apiece, while Tom Droney scored 12
points off the bench to help Davidson to its second consecutive win.
For the Cougars (12-7, 4-3), Andrew Lawrence scored a game-high 18 points,
grabbed five boards, and dealt out four assists. Adjehi Baru and Anthony
Thomas scored 13 points apiece. Trent Wiedeman chipped in 10 points off the
bench as Charleston lost for the second time in a row.
Both teams shot 46.7 percent from the floor in the first half, but Davidson
outscored Charleston, 14-4, at the charity stripe to take a 44-34 advantage
into the break.
After the break, Charleston cooled off slightly to sink 44.8 percent of its
attempts from the floor. The Wildcats made 50 percent of their field goal
tries to protect their lead and coast to the nine-point victory.
Davidson enjoyed a 37-28 advantage in the rebounding battle.
