Provo, UT (Sports Network) - Matt Carlino scored 21 points and Tyler Haws
tallied 20 more as the BYU Cougars routed the Loyola Marymount Lions, 92-51,
in a West Coast Conference battle at the Marriott Center.
Carlino had five assists to match five rebounds for BYU (11-4, 1-0 WCC) and
Haws brought down nine rebounds. Brandon Davies added 12 points and also
collected nine boards while Josh Sharp hauled in a game-high 12 rebounds.
Ashley Hamilton paced Loyola Marymount (7-7, 0-1) with 16 points.
The Cougars got out to a 35-20 lead at the half by shooting 43.3 percent
from the floor while limiting Loyola Marymount to a 23.5 percent effort.
In the second half the Cougars led by as many as 44 points as they shot 55.9
percent from the field in the final 20 minutes.
BYU had a 55-28 edge on the boards and a 36-18 advantage on points in the
paint.
