Fairfax, VA (Sports Network) - Jonathan Lee and Quincy Ford combined for 38
points, as the Northeastern Huskies came from behind to earn an 84-74 victory
over the George Mason Patriots at the Patriot Center in the Colonial Athletic
Association opener for both programs.
Lee was 8-of-13 from the floor for a game-high 20 points. Ford was just 4-
of-12 shooting overall, but 7-of-8 from the free-throw line, finishing with 18
points for the Huskies (6-7, 1-0 CAA). Zach Stahl added 15 points in 20
minutes of work off the bench.
Sherrod Wright led George Mason (7-6, 0-1) in defeat, with 19 points. Vertrail
Vaughns finished with 13 points, while Jonathan Arledge chipped in with nine
points and nine rebounds for the Patriots, who dropped their second straight
game.
The Patriots shot 53.6 percent from the floor in the first half, converting
15-of-28 field goal attempts, to take a 37-30 lead into the break.
The Huskies turned the tables after halftime, converting 64.3 percent from
the floor over the final 20 minutes (18-of-28), including six 3-pointers to
earn the 10-point win.
Northeastern shot 52.6 percent from the field overall, including a a 56.3-
percent clip from behind the arc (9-of-16). George Mason held a 34-27 edge in
rebounding, but the visiting Huskies outscored the Patriots 19-11 from the
free-throw line.
