Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Kammeon Holsey scored a game-high 14 points to
help the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets complete a 73-41 rout of The Citadel
Bulldogs in a non-conference bout at McCamish Pavilion.
Marcus Georges-Hunt added 12 points for Georgia Tech (8-2), which also got
nine points and 10 rebounds from Robert Carter Jr. The Yellow Jackets had a
collective effort as 13 different players saw the floor and 10 of them managed
to score at least two points.
The Citadel (3-7) really struggled on the offensive end as its starting five
shot a collective 9-of-43 from the floor. Mike Groselle and Lawrence Miller
netted nine points each while Stephen Elmore contributed eight points and 10
rebounds.
Georgia Tech managed to build a double-digit advantage on the scoreboard less
than five minutes after tip-off and never looked back. The Bulldogs made just
19.4 percent of their field goals including just 1-of-11 from three-point
range in the first half, enabling the Yellow Jackets to take a 41-16 lead at
the intermission.
The Citadel improved to 32.1 percent shooting in the second half, but
the Yellow Jackets outscored the visitors, 26-8, in the paint over the
final 20 minutes to extend their lead.
Georgia Tech also held a dominant 51-33 edge in the rebounding battle on the
way to its fourth win in a row.
