Murfreesboro, TN (Sports Network) - Raymond Cintron scored 15 points for the
Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders as they defeated the Tennessee State Tigers
77-48, in a lopsided matchup at the Murphy Center.
Cintron scored all of his points from beyond the arc, knocking down an
impressive 5-of-6 shots from deep for the Blue Raiders (8-3), who have now won
three of their last four. Marcos Knight supplied 14 points and six rebounds
while Neiko Hunter and Shawn Jones added 13 points each.
Robert Covington led all scorers with 17 points, despite shooting just 4-of-17
from the field. Covington also pulled down nine rebounds, six offensive, for
Tennessee State (5-7), which has lost two of its last three games. Patrick
Miller was the only other Tiger to score in double-figures with 12 points.
Middle Tennessee led 43-20 after the first half by shooting 48.5 percent
from the field and holding the Tigers to 36.8 percent.
The second half wasn't much different as the Blue Raiders outscored Tennessee
State 34-28, and held the Tigers to 25.0 percent shooting in the half.
The Tigers struggled to find their shots in the game, shooting just 29.8
percent from the field. Tennessee State did not take care of the ball as well
recording 20 turnovers in the loss.
