Macomb, IL (Sports Network) - Terell Parks recorded a double-double with 19
points and 11 rebounds to help lift the Western Illinois Leathernecks over
their instate foes, the Illinois-Chicago Flames, by a convincing score of
70-54 at Western Hall.
Parks was 8-of-11 from the field before fouling out at the 2:34 mark in the
second half. Ceola Clark scored 14 points with eight assists and six rebounds
while Jack Houpt added 12 points for the Leathernecks (8-3), who have now won
five in a row.
Joey Miller scored 15 points off the bench for the Flames (9-2), who saw their
eight-game winning streak come to an end. Josh Crittle was the only other
player for Illinois-Chicago to score in double-figures with 14 points,
shooting 8-of-10 from the free-throw line.
Illinois-Chicago led 27-25 at half time after holding Western Illinois to 39.1
percent shooting from the field in the first half.
In the second half the Leathernecks were completely dominant as they shot 68.4
percent from the floor and outscored the Flames 45-27.
Western Illinois outscored the Flames 26-16 on points in the paint.
