Dayton, OH (Sports Network) - Devin Oliver logged a double-double with 13
points and a career-high 14 rebounds to lead the Dayton Flyers to an easy
81-56 win over the Florida Atlantic Owls in non-conference action at UD Arena.
Matt Derenbecker came off the bench to score a team-high 15 points for Dayton
(8-2), which has won four straight games. Kevin Dillard put up 14 points, Vee
Sanford had 12 points, and Jalen Robinson hauled in 14 boards.
For FAU (5-5), Greg Gantt shot 7-of-17 from the floor and 9-of-10 from the
foul line for 26 points, his fifth 20-point game of the season. Stefan Moody
added 13 points but he had a poor night shooting (3-of-14).
Dayton shot 50 percent from the field in the first half, while FAU made just
28.6 percent of its shots in the frame, as the Flyers got out to a comfortable
37-23 lead at intermission.
The Flyers regressed to 43.8 percent from the floor in the second half, but
their lead never dipped below double figures.
Dayton dominated the rebounding battle, 45-31, and FAU committed more
turnovers (19) than field goals made (16) on the evening.
