Elon, NC (Sports Network) - Lucas Troutman and Jack Isenbarger each scored 15
points to lead the Elon Phoenix to a 71-49 non-conference win over the
Dartmouth Big Green at Alumni Gym.
The Phoenix (6-3) also got 11 points from Austin Hamilton and a double-double
from Ryley Beaumont. The latter recorded 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Gabas Maldunas was the only starter for Dartmouth (2-4) in double figures with
10 points. The rest of the four starters shot 0-of-17 from the floor and
scored just one point. Connor Boehm helped out with 12 points and 12 boards
off the bench and Malik Gill netted 11 points.
Dartmouth came out flat in the first half and trailed 34-21 after the opening
20 minutes. Elon shot just 30.0 percent as a team but led thanks to a 25-17
rebounding margin and even 27.9 percent shooting by the Big Green.
Elon scored the first eight points of the second half and did not allow a
Dartmouth point until more than five minutes into the half.
Dartmouth connected on just 1-of-19 from 3-point range as the Big Green lost
for the fourth time in five games.
