Vermillion, SD (Sports Network) - Juevol Myles scored 26 points, grabbed six
rebounds, and dealt out six assists to lead the South Dakota Coyotes to an
88-68 rout over the IUPUI Jaguars in a Summit League tilt at the DakotaDome.
Trevor Gruis and Brandon Bos contributed 16 points each for South Dakota (4-4,
1-1 Summit), which is now back at the .500 mark overall and in conference
play. Karim Rowson chipped in 15 points, nine rebounds, and four steals for
the Coyotes.
John Hart paced IUPUI (3-6, 0-2) with 29 points on 12-of-25 shooting from the
field. Donovan Gibbs grabbed a team-best total of seven rebounds as the
Jaguars suffered their second loss in a row.
South Dakota scored the first basket of the game and never looked back. The
hosts took a 49-33 lead into halftime after converting 68 percent from the
field in the opening period. IUPUI converted just 37.5 percent of its field
goal attempts in the first half.
Although the Coyotes cooled off to shoot 10-of-26 from the floor after the
break, they managed to extend their lead on the scoreboard to as many as 23 by
draining 17-of-20 at the charity stripe. The Jaguars attempted only two foul
shots in the final 20 minutes.
South Dakota held a 42-27 advantage in the rebounding battle.
