Troy, AL (Sports Network) - Jordan Swing and Robert Williams scored 18 points
a piece as the UAB Blazers coasted to a 75-55 decision over Troy in a non-
conference tilt at Trojan Arena.
Terence Jones added 14 points and five assists for UAB (4-3), which was coming
off of back-to-back losses. Rod Rucker recorded a double-double with 10 points
and 12 rebounds.
Hunter Williams scored a team-high 16 points as the Trojans (4-3) had their
three-game winning streak snapped. Antoine Myers chipped in 13 points, but he
and Williams combined for 10 of the team's season-high total of 14 turnovers.
Troy had little success in the opening 20 minutes as it shot just 25 percent
from the field, including a 2-of-11 mark from beyond the arc. Although they
were having trouble finishing, the Trojans led 20-18 with 8:29 left in the
first half. UAB responded with a 17-0 run into the intermission. The Blazers
took a 35-20 advantage into halftime after they knocked down 41.9 percent of
their field goal attempts.
UAB was even better after the break as it converted 46.4 percent from the
floor, six three-pointers, and all eight of its free throw attempts to stay in
front. The Trojans also improved to make 41.4 percent of their second half
field goals, but they were unable to cut the deficit to single digits at any
point during the stanza.
UAB held a commanding 45-29 advantage in the rebounding battle.
