College Park, MD (Sports Network) - Charles Mitchell led five Terrapins in
double figures with 13 points as Maryland cruised by the visiting Georgia
Southern Eagles, 70-53, in non-conference action at Comcast Center.
Mitchell added 11 rebounds from off the bench for Maryland (4-1). Logan
Aronhalt scored 12 points on a perfect 4-of-4 from behind the arc. Nick Faust
tallied 11 points, while Alex Len and Shaquille Cleare contributed 10 points a
piece.
The Eagles (2-3) were paced by C.J. Reed who scored a game-high 15 points.
Eric Ferguson chipped in 13 points and Tre Bussey put up 11 points in the
setback.
Despite Georgia Southern starting out the game on a 9-1 run, the Terrapins
crawled back to take a 29-26 lead at the half. Maryland's bench contributed 19
points in the first 20 minutes of play.
Maryland opened the second half on a 17-4 run and never looked back. The
Terrapins shot 49.1 percent from the field in the game, while the Eagles made
only 33.3 percent of their attempts from the floor.
The Terrapins dominated on the glass, 49-25, and held the visitors to only 7-
of-22 shooting behind the three-point line.
