Harrisonburg, VA (Sports Network) - Jamelle Hagins was superb as he scored 23
points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead the Delaware Blue Hens to an 85-80
victory over the James Madison Dukes in Colonial Athletic Association action
at the Convocation Center.
Devon Saddler contributed 22 points as Delaware (11-12, 7-6 CAA ) won its
second game in a row. Jarvis Threatt netted 14 points, Kyle Anderson scored 13
points, and Khalid Lewis dished out seven assists.
A.J. Davis paced James Madison (10-15, 3-10) with a game-high 30 points on 10-
of-19 shooting from the field. Humpty Hitchens and Devon Moore got into the
mix as well, as they added 17 and 16-point efforts, respectively. Andrey
Semenov chipped in 11 points while Enoch Hood pulled down nine boards.
The Blue Hens took a 44-36 lead into halftime after they shot 46.9 percent
from the field and went 5-of-10 from three-point range in the opening period.
James Madison shot an even 50 percent from the field, but trailed after
attempted four less shots and eight less free throws in the first half.
The Dukes narrowed the margin after the break by connecting on 42.9 percent of
its field goals and 8-of-16 from beyond the arc in the second half. Delaware
never trailed and held off the home team by making 15-of-19 from the charity
stripe in the final 20 minutes.
The reserves played a key role as the Blue Hens' bench outscored their
counterparts 16-0.
