RICHMOND, Va. (WUSA9) -- The city of Richmond has really embraced the Redskins.
Well over 100,000 fans have come to see this team over the last 11 days. The Players themselves have said they are overwhelmed with the excitement. Everywhere you go there are Redskins posters plastered on walls and in windows. Several local restaurants even added some new menu items to honor their team.
One thing is obvious, Richmond has gone coo coo for the Redskins.
The hungry fans can now curb their appetite with their very own RGIII Sandwich. At Gus's on Broad Street, Chef Spiros created the "Griffin lll"
It has steak and cheese with some taco seasoning, lettuce, tomato and some special spices.
Not too far away is Buddy's Bar and Grill. They have three special menu items: The Fletching Fletcher hot dog, the Pierre Garcon French Dip and the Robert Griffin the third.
It's comprised of Brisket, bacon, jalapenos and coleslaw, and it is yummy.
But what about the players. What kind of sandwich do they envision for themselves?
