(Sports Network) - The Golden State Warriors were able to end their losing
streak the last time out and aim for back-to-back victories Wednesday versus
the Detroit Pistons at Oracle Arena.
Golden State halted a two-game slide with Monday's 92-63 victory over the New
York Knicks in the continuation of a seven-game homestand. Steph Curry scored
26 points and Klay Thompson added 23 for Golden State, which is 3-2 on the
homestand and 21-9 in Oakland this season.
The Warriors allowed only nine points in the fourth quarter and limited the
Knicks to 27.4 percent shooting on the night.
Former Knick David Lee recorded a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds
after missing Saturday's loss to the Bucks with a right knee contusion.
"Not the greatest but I was able to come out and fight through it tonight,"
Lee said of his knee. "I didn't get to play against these guys in New York so
I had to make up for it tonight."
Lee is the only player in the NBA averaging at least 18 points, 11 rebounds
and three assists per game.
The Warriors are currently sixth in the Western Conference -- 1 1/2 games
ahead of the Houston Rockets -- and will wrap up the residency Friday versus
the Chicago Bulls.
Detroit has stumbled recently with six straight losses and fell to 0-2 on a
four-game road trip. In Monday's 103-90 loss at Utah, Greg Monroe paced
Detroit with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
"If we would have made a couple more shots, we could have been in a position
to win the game, and if we got a couple more stops," said Monroe, who is
averaging 18.0 points in his last six games.
Pistons guard Brandon Knight left the contest in the first quarter with an
ankle injury and did not return. Knight is doubtful for Wednesday's game.
Jonas Jerebko and Rodney Stuckey finished with 15 points apiece for the
Pistons, who are only 1-9 in the past 10 games and have dropped four straight
away from The Palace. Detroit is 8-23 on the road.
The Pistons will conclude their trip Saturday at Portland.
Detroit dropped a 104-97 home loss to Golden State on Dec. 5 this season and
has dropped the past three meetings between the teams.
