Houston, TX (Sports Network) - The Houston Rockets trimmed their roster in advance of their season opener by waiving guard Shaun Livingston and forwards Jon Brockman, JaJuan Johnson, Gary Forbes and Lazar Hayward on Monday.

The oft-injured Livingston, selected fourth overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2004 NBA Draft, had been acquired along with Brockman and Jon Leuer in a trade with Milwaukee in late June. The 27-year-old appeared in 58 games and made 27 starts for the Bucks last season, averaging 5.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest.

Over seven seasons with the Clippers, Miami, Oklahoma City, Washington, Charlotte and Milwaukee, Livingston has averaged 6.8 points and 3.5 assists per game.

Johnson is also a former first-round choice, taken 27th overall by the Nets and promptly dealt to Boston in 2011. The Purdue product averaged 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in 36 games as a rookie with the Celtics, and was traded to the Rockets in July.

Forbes spent last season with Toronto before being shipped to the Rockets along with a first-round pick for guard Kyle Lowry over the summer. The 27- year-old averaged 6.6 points, 2.1 rebounds and nearly 15 minutes in 48 games (2 starts) in his one year with the Raptors.

Brockman is in his fourth NBA season and spent the last two with Milwaukee, where the power forward averaged 1.1 points and 2.1 rebounds over 35 games in 2011-12.

Hayward was just acquired by the Rockets from Oklahoma City as part of Saturday's blockbuster trade that also sent reigning NBA Sixth Man of the Year James Harden to Houston. He averaged 1.4 points and 0.6 rebounds in 26 games for the Thunder a season ago.
