FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA) -- This game was a blowout from the onset as Robinson (4-4) took control in the first quarter and never took their foot off the gas pedal.

A 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown on the opening kickoff was nullified by a holding penalty, but the Rams still scored on a Joe Wilson run from three yards out. A Wilson run for 14 yards and a Jack Rowlett QB keeper for 15 yards quickly ensued. Friday night's match-up would be decided in the first quarter.

The second quarter followed a similar script, as Turner Peterson hauled in two touchdown receptions, his second one on a diving catch from 31 yards out. Wilson scored yet again, and Aidan Rockwood kicked a field goal to make the score 45-0 at the half. The Rams first seven possessions resulted in points and many starters were pulled after the first half ended.

Wilson dominated in the first half, rushing for 226 yards and three touchdowns. The second Wilson touchdown of the game was set up by a blocked punt.

Robinson has done extremely well at home this year, going 4-0. Away games are a different story; the Rams are 0-4 on the road.

"When we've played at home, we haven't made a lot of mistakes," said Rams head coach Trey Taylor. "That's been our thing this year; if we don't make a lot of mistakes then we usually do pretty well in games. If we're routinely giving teams short fields, then we're not very successful."

Taylor said the team can take a lot of positives from its victory over Herndon into the last two games of the regular season.

"We have two very tough games coming up against Oakton and Chantilly that will be very critical for us and I hope we can take a lot of positives from this, we started a new quarterback [Rowlett] tonight and he did really well so hopefully he can build on that experience."
