COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - Maryland coach Randy Edsall will take his time before picking a successor to injured Perry Hills as the Terrapins' new starting quarterback.

Hills tore the ACL in his left knee in Saturday's 20-18 loss to North Carolina State. Hills, a true freshman, gained the starting job after C.J. Brown tore a knee ligament in August.

Sophomore Devin Burns and true freshman Caleb Rowe now stand atop the depth chart. Edsall says he may not announce his starter for Saturday's game against Boston College until shortly before the opening kickoff.

Burns replaced Hills in the second quarter against N.C. State and did a fine job of running the offense. Rowe came in for the final series and moved the Terrapins in range for a game-winning field goal try - which failed.
