COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WUSA) -- According to Jeff Borzello of CBSSports.com, by Thursday night, Mark Turgeon and the Maryland basketball program will know whether the highly coveted Harrison Twins will be playing at the Comcast Center starting in 2013.
Aaron and Andrew Harrison are the top ranked point and shooting guards in the entire country. The Texas natives have declared themselves a package deal and if Turgeon can get them to commit to Maryland, this would probably be the biggest signing in the program's storied history.
One of the brothers tweeted Monday night that he would be making the hardest decision of his life on Thursday. It has since been confirmed that he was referring to deciding where he and his brother are going to play basketball next year.
Only college basketball powerhouse Kentucky and Southern Methodist -- who are now coached by Larry Brown -- are in consideration with the Terps. However, most scouts believe it's just between the NCAA national champion Wildcats and Maryland.
Turgeon made a big splash last year when he recruited Shaq Cleare, the gem of last year's recruiting class and another Texas native. Before arriving at Maryland, Turgeon coached at Texas A&M and may have some influence on recruits from the Lone Star state. For the sake of the Terp Nation, I hope this is true.
