WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Stephen Bowen has a new look this season on the field. His face mask now has a wowing six bars.
"It's brand new, just wanted a little bit of a change up. It looks cool," smiled Bowen.
So is the helmet used just for style, or to also protect Bowen from opposing lineman jostling their hands in his face.
"A little bit of both. It's hard for them to really grab it, also. With all the bars. It's protective."
Finally Bowen added: "My teammates say I look crazy with it. I said 'that's a good thing.'"
