WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- President Obama decidedly stole the show during the first half of the USA Olympic basketball exhibition against Brazil.
First, it was the rousing ovation he received upon his arrival in the building, moments before tip-off. His second highlight may unfortunately stick with him for awhile -- well at least in the minds of the D.C. sports fans in attendance.
The Verizon Center entertainment crew orchestrated their normal "kiss cam" routine during a commercial break in the second quarter. Typically the camera is able to randomly spot a couple who isn't actually a couple -- creating 10 seconds of awesome awkwardness.
Surprisingly on Tuesday night, all the couples throughout the crowd sheepishly played along with the gimmick.
That is except for Michelle and Barack Obama.
Some will say that the pair was oblivious to what was going on in the arena. Or some, like myself, will say that the first lady flat out denied our Commander in Chief a peck on the lips. The above photograph from Michael Lee paints evidence that Barack went in for the smooch.
No, this isn't crazy breaking news. Still, Michelle's blocked shot on Barack was probably the most noteworthy highlight during the uninspiring first half. Team USA leads Brazil 37-32.'
UPDATE: Barack was able to plant a wet kiss late in the fourth quarter, totally redeeming himself. Check out this picture from CNN pundit Wolf Blitzer.
