(WUSA) -- Next Thursday, golfers will tee of in the AT&T National's return to Congressional Country Club. Yesterday, the field was announced for this year's tournament.
Tiger Woods makes his return to his tournament after not playing in it last year. The former number one ranked golfer in the world won his own tournament three years ago, when it was last held at Congressional.
Hunter Mahan joins Tiger Woods as the only golfers ranked in the top 10 to participate in the AT&T National. The two are also the only golfers in the field with multiple wins on tour in 2012. Mahan has finished no lower than 12th in the AT&T National when it's been played at Congressional, including a second place finish to Woods in 2009.
Jim Furyk also will be a part of the AT&T National field. For Furyk, the tournament represents his first action on tour since the U.S. Open. The 42-year old was tied for the lead at Olympic Golf Club after the second and third rounds, only to falter in the final round before finishing tied for fourth.
Nick Watney will attempt to become the first golfer to win the AT&T National in back-to-back years. Watney won at Aronimink Golf Club last year by two strokes over fellow 2012 participant, and 2007 winner, K.J. Choi.
In addition to some of the more established names on tour participating in the AT&T National, youth also will be served.
The tournament will be just the second one for Patrick Cantlay as a pro. Cantlay turned pro this week following the U.S. Open. He is currently competing in the Traveler's Championship.
The AT&T National will mark the first tournament since the U.S. Open for 17-year old Beau Hossler. Hossler is coming off an impressive performance in San Francisco. The rising high school senior finished tied for 29th, and briefly led the U.S. Open during the second round.
Listed below is the entire field for the AT&T National, and the alternates.
Our live coverage from Congressional Country Club begins Monday. We will have a special Clubhouse Report following our 11pm newscast Wednesday-Friday of next week.
