WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- The city of Washington D.C. continue to fall in love with Nationals baseball. One of the youngest teams in the league, the Nats have opened the season with a 30-22 record. That's good for the second best mark in the National League.
You can add the Las Vegas odds-makers to the groups of people swooning about the Nats.
Currently on Vegas.com, the Nationals odds to win the National League pennant are 7/1. Only the Braves (5/1), the Dodgers (6/1) and the Phillies (9/2) have better odds than the Nats.
The San Francisco Giants -- the surprising winners of the 2010 World Series, and a team this year's Nats have been compared too becuase of their unheralded pitching -- are also listed at 7/1. Just to compare, the Nats opened the season with 14/1 odds, while the Giants have remained the exact same.
The next five series for the Nationals will prove if the team is for real or not. Tuesday begins the following stretch: Mets, @Red Sox, @Blue Jays, Yankees, Rays and @Orioles. All of these teams are above .500.
Are you buying into the Nats yet? Do you at least think they will make the playoffs?
