VIENNA, Va. (WUSA) -- Police are investigating a fatal accident in Vienna shut down a section of Old Courthouse Road during the morning rush hour.
Bill Murray, spokesperson for Vienna City Police, says a male driver was killed in the single vehicle accident and two others have been taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Murray says Vienna Police officers arrived on the scene of the accident in the 300 block of Old Courthouse Road around 2:00 a.m. and found the vehicle on fire. One of the officers was able to extinguish the flames, confining them to the engine compartment.
Murray said Old Courthouse Road was shut down between Westbriar Drive and Fairway Drive near the Westwood Country Club.
