WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- The ushers at Greater Mount Calvary Holy Church estimate that in the past year alone they have eulogized about 15 innocent young people who met violent deaths in the District.
Funeral services for Anita Jack's four murdered daughters were held here.
A Maryland Avenue mother and her two young sons, all murdered by her common law husband, were eulogized at Greater Mount Calvary.
A female teen hit and killed by a bullet not long ago at the Edgewood terrace apartments was remembered in services at the huge Northeast DC church.
Today, 19-year-old Aaron Brice of Silver Spring, Maryland was eulogized by a packed congregation that chose to celebrate his young life rather than simply mourning his sudden loss.
Brice was shot and killed on Halloween night at a party in Columbia, Maryland that had been advertised on Facebook.
An argument broke out in the basement of the Columbia mansion.
Devin Dixon of Elkridge allegedly pulled a 40-caliber Glock semi automatic and began firing.
Young people scattered everywhere, and Aaron was hit multiple times. He had not been in the dispute.
The Blake High School graduate was working at a Giant food store with plans to enter Montgomery College. His father, Anthony Brice, told 9NEWS NOW that his son wanted a career in law enforcement.
His uncle, Robby Meekin,s fought back tears saying "At 19, he was too young to die like that. We got to do better than this."
