SILVER SPRING Md. (WUSA) --- Nadil Malik Hasan lived on the 18th floor of White Oak Towers Apartments. Neighbors say they remember a man usually dressed in military fatigues or Muslim outfit.
9NEWS NOW spoke to building residents who said Hasan seemed like a "good guy" who mostly kept to himself.
One Christian man said he had some lengthy conversations about religion.
"I saw him several times. One day he was talking to me about Jesus. He wanted me to believe Jesus was a man just like everybody else. Like Muhammad. He wanted to convince me one day, he told me 'We gonna talk again.' I didn't know he was a serial killer. His face, when you see him, he was a good guy," says Tchiken Gilbert, resident on the second floor.
Next door neighbor Vivian Tchanghan recalled a man who always said "hello" to her. She says she feels shocked that such an "innocent looking" person would do such a crime.
"He was a nice man. He didn't bother anybody," says Tchanghan, the two-year neighbor.
Hasan is the suspect of the Fort Hood, Tx., Army post shooting on Thursday that killed 12 people and injured 31 others.
