MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA) -- The 15 year old boy arrested by Prince William police Tuesday for allegedly assaulting five women over the past three months is a 9th grader at Stonewall Jackson High School according to neighbors and classmates who spoke to 9 News Now but asked that their names not be used.
The young man lives in a townhome with several other teens and youngsters who are "running wild without any kind of adult supervision" according to worried and scared neighbors.
"I have lived here for three years and I think I've seen the mom maybe four times" another neighbor told 9 News Now.
"To think so many kids are constantly running in and out of that house and that one of them was involved in assaulting five women is scary" a single mom who lives a few doors down from the suspect told 9 News Now.
9 News Now also spoke to neighbors on either side of the townhome where the teenage suspect was arrested Tuesday, one said the suspects mother "was upset because police had not explained to her why her son had been arrested."
One teenage girl says she's known the suspect since middle school and while "he would get in trouble in school for minor stuff" she considered "crazy" the fact he was arrested on charges that include attempted rape.
The attacks which happened less than three miles from the suspect's home included "punching, beating, and biting"of the victims according to Erika Hernandez a Prince William county police spokesperson.
Police would not confirm if child welfare services will get involved and investigate the situation at the suspect's home even though most neighbors feel that the other children in are possibly neglected.
