DAMASCUS, Md. (WUSA) -- A 2-year-old boy died after getting entangled in a drapery cord in his home in Damascus at about 3 p.m. Sunday, Montgomery County police said.
The boy, Thapelo Andre Kwofie of Valley Park Court, was pronounced dead at Shady Grove Hospital.
Family members were home at the time, and when they discovered the boy, he was unresponsive. They began CPR and called Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division are investigating the death.
"It doesn't appear to be a case of abuse or neglect," said Montgomery County police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks. "It's just an accidental death."
