Woodbridge Teen Charged In Fairfax Sex Assault

FAIRFAX, Va. (WUSA) - A 17-year-old Woodbridge boy has been charged with a sexual assault and an attempted robbery in the Mount Vernon area of Fairfax county, and police are now investigating the teen's possible involvement in other crimes as well.

The sex assault incident occurred on Tuesday, October 13 and the attempted robbery happened on October 14. Police officers in the Mount Vernon area saw the suspect walking in the 7700 block of Richmond Highway on Tuesday, October 27 around 9:30 a.m. It was determined that he was wanted on unrelated charges and further investigation led to the suspect's arrest.

Police now say investigators have determined the boy is allegedly responsible for grabbing and touching a 17-year-old girl inappropriately on Tuesday, October 13 around 8:35 a.m. in the 7700 block of Richmond Highway and for grabbing a 27-year-old woman and reportedly rummaging through her belongings in the 7800 block of Parrot Place around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14.

The teenager was transported to the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center and charged with sexual battery, attempted robbery and abduction with the intent to defile. Detectives are continuing their investigation to determine if the suspect is involved in other similar crimes.
