BELTSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police say an officer has shot a man who fired at an armored truck during an attempted robbery.

It happened about 3:30 p.m. Friday at Evans Trail and Powder Mill Road in Beltsville. Officer Henry Tippett, a police spokesman, says two suspects were following an armored truck and fired shots at the truck. No one was injured.

An officer fired at the suspects' vehicle, shattering the driver's side window. The suspects fled on foot and one barricaded himself in a house.

Tippett says the suspect was shot by officers. He was taken to a local hospital; his condition is not known.

Police are still looking for the second suspect.
