
CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (WUSA)--Two armed men tried to carjack an off-duty DC Police officer at approximately 6:21 AM Sunday.
Prince Georges County Police say the incident took place on the 1900 block of Brooks Drive in Capitol Heights, Md. Police say that, allegedly, the carjackers fired at the officer who then returned fire.
The officer was not hurt, but, polic say, he thought he had hit one of the suspects as they were fleeing the scene on foot.
Police say they are looking for two armed black men, both about 25 years of age, one of them with braids. So far, police have not found anyone at any local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound that fits the description provided by off-duty officer.
