WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- The security firm that provides guards for DC schools has folded.

Hawk One Security owes the IRS $4 million and has now filed for bankruptcy protection. The company pulled 300 school security guards from their posts overnight.

When staff arrived at Strong Thomson Elementary Friday morning, there was no security. An officer from the second district had to be rerouted there. Dunbar High School was on lock down until they could get adequate security. School staff stepped up at other schools to beef up protection.

Late Friday, a DC school spokesman said DC police, who oversee school security, had hired two new firms to provide security.

There was a concern about security at some Friday night high school football games. Anacostia High School called in the National Guard to help with security during its home game against Coolidge.
